• When Can I Join Pang’s U.S. Taekwondo/Hapkido Academy?


New students are accepted and enrolled on a daily basis. You may sign up at any time.

• Is It Safe To Practice Taekwondo?


Yes. Taekwondo is designed as a non-violent system of self-defense. No injuries should occur through proper and well-supervised instruction.

• How Long Does It Take To Become A Black Belt?


It depends on individual effort, but the average person can feel improvement physically and mentally within 3 months. It takes approximately 30-35 months (with regular class attendance) to become a black belt (1st poom / 1st dan). Some people may take more or less time, depending on how hard they try. By the time a student attains their black belt, they should have enough self-confidence and ability to defend themselves.

• At What Age Can My Children Begin Taekwondo Training?


It is good for children to begin taekwondo training at an early age for good social development, better coordination, and sound mental capabilities. Pang’s U.S. Taekwondo Academy accepts children as young as three years old.

 

 

• Am I Too Old Or Too Out-Of-Shape To Practice Taekwondo?


No. Everyone can practice taekwondo regardless of age, gender, or fitness level. It is never too late to begin practice. Even disabled people can learn taekwondo because it is not just kicking and punching. It is a modern universal art of self-defense and character development. You will find that your overall physical condition benefits greatly from taekwondo training.

 

How Often May I Attend?


Taekwondo is an individual art to be studied at your own pace. You may attend classes as often as you desire. It is recommended that you attend at least 2~3 times a week to observe considerable improvement in your overall physical and mental well being. Rank promotion relies on good attendance.

Does Pang’s TKD Offer Any Extra Curricular Activities?

 

Yes. There are a variety of activities and special events offered by Pang’s U.S. Taekwondo academy. PTKD’s annual events and activities include: South Korea tour program, special Taekwondo & Hapkido training seminars, black belt clubs, instructor courses (jr./sr.), summer camp programs, special instruction for weapons, olympic sparring & advanced self-defense, women’s self-defense & physical fitness classes, video instructions, spring & fall picnics/field days, competitions (local, state, national), Hwarang Classic Taekwondo championships (hosted by Pang’s TKD Academy), TKD photos, international exchange program, private lessons, parties and awards ceremonies, promotion tests / ceremonies, demonstrations, knowledge tests, leadership team/demo team activities, scholarships, special promotions, honorary black belt presentations, blue sky soccer/golf/fishing club, Taekwondo newsletters, support association, conference/survey, parent’s night out, newspaper/magazine articles, TKD status reports, Dojang handbook, membership card, PTKD history book, and many more!

May I Participate In A Class Before I Enroll?


Yes. You may participate in one free trial lesson with no obligation. However, class spectators are not allowed. Demonstrations, competitions, and other special activities are given annually during which spectators & family members are welcome.

Do You Accept Major Credit Cards? 


Yes. Pang's Taekwondo accepts all major credit cards.
